We are 42 people, one 6,000 sq ft floor, four kilns, two foiling presses and a truly excessive ribbon library. We make gifts that look like somebody thought about them, because somebody did.
It started because
a gift arrived badly.
In 2015 our founder received a corporate Diwali hamper with a cracked sweet box, a plastic-wrapped diya and a printed card addressed to the wrong person. It had cost the sender real money. It arrived looking like an afterthought.
The Gift Foundry began the next year as a two-person operation with a single rule that has never changed: if we would be embarrassed to receive it, it does not ship.
We brought everything in-house — the box press, the candle pours, the paper marbling, the foiling, the packing, the photography — because every step we outsourced was a step where the care leaked out.
Today we run Diwali seasons of 40,000 boxes without a single drop-shipped item. The rule still holds.
